Statement: Classically trained in Pietrasanta, Italy, Kim Mosley brings the traditional art form of stone sculpture into the modern age. One of the few female professional stone carvers, her sculptures are raw yet refined. Stone carving fulfills her physical need to create form, however, it is her inner spirit that brings forth the true beauty of each stone. Kim's paintings and mixed media work are strongly influenced by her time studying art at the Indonesian Art Institute in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Now Kim resides as a full-time artist on Maui, creating both paintings and sculptures, as well as teaching art, that reflects the serenity of places, moments, and circumstances of life.
